Hawthorne, Glen Rock & West Orange Officials Help Ascendia Bank Celebrate 100th Anniversary at all Branches
Highlights included special Centennial products – 100-Day CD, 18-Month Ascending Rate “Bump Up” CD and Tiered Money Market Accounts – as well as an instant cash promotion, refreshments and giveaways.
Hawthorne, NJ – Ascendia Bank, a 100-year-old financial institution formerly known as Glen Rock Savings Bank, hosted well-attended Centennial Celebration events on Saturday, October 8th at all four of its branch offices, located at 175 Rock Road in Glen Rock; 250 Lincoln Avenue in Hawthorne; 474 Prospect Avenue in West Orange; and 83 Northfield Avenue in West Orange.
Area residents began lining up outside the branches at 8:30am to participate in an Instant Cash Giveaway, and to open Certificates of Deposits and Money Market Accounts with special annual percentage yields (APYs). The first 50 adults that visited each Ascendia Bank branch received a beverage tumbler with anywhere from $1 to $100 cash inside. Four lucky winners, one at each branch, won $100. The Bank handed out Ascendia Bank tote bags, numerous giveaways and refreshments. In addition, local mayors and several council members helped the Bank celebrate the occasion by cutting a birthday cake celebrating 100 years of service at their local branch.
To commemorate this important milestone, the Bank offered three special products: a 100-Day Centennial CD with a minimum $1,000 deposit, an 18-Month Ascending Rate “Bump Up” CD with a minimum $500 deposit and Tiered Centennial Money Market Accounts, also with a minimum $1,000 deposit, for deposits not previously held by Ascendia Bank. The celebratory products proved to be so popular that the Bank will continue to offer each of them through the end of October.
